So many great photos of the Monkey Man looking like a tool but I think the one above does the job. The question of how he’s still got a job, together with a brilliant review of the new album are here. Plus a nice little video of The Stone Roses around the time of the recording of Fools Gold is here and is kind of what you’d imagine …kagools, terrible dancing and setting fire to stuff.

Sorry for the radio silence lately we’ve been away on the Scottish Tour through Sutherland, the Outer Hebrides, Argyll and then back to Fife. Managed to pick myself up a Harris Tweed old man’s bunnet. No doubt more photos to follow…

As I’m becoming more and more fixated with icons and infographics I thought i’d post Iconwerk as he’s one of my favourites. So much of it is just so simple and clear. And the ethos is great: “While you‘re reading this, I’m shopping or at the movies“.

So basically it’s Hip Hip Covers from indie artists, some are rough but some are just great. In fact a few are great or at least not like anything else I’ve seen before.

It’s always a joy to have complicated concepts explained in a clear and concise way…especially if you’re weak of brain. Which is what Always With Honor do. “Our mission is to create work that helps break down complex information into simple (and fun) designs that are easily understood and enjoyed.” The blog’s great too.

As much as I thought I’d hate this I don’t. Sounds to me like the cure when they were good. More from The XX here and the obligatory left field cover here.

It’s Chris Ware (finally - it’s been a long time coming) and This American Life brought together in words and moving images. The true story about what it’s like to be married and the one about being at school. This is good too…

Not all that impressed with Giant Human but i thought the Fruit Booter thing was funny. Nice to see the community embrace the term but why is blading so hated?

Hate them or really hate them, pitchfork is always good for a laugh and once in a while they make a big list and it’s fun to see what you agree with plus all the stuff you know for a fact is just shit plus the stuff you’ve never hear of.

So ‘last week’ but I’ve been getting right into Uproot recently. It’s great for getting stuff done to even if it does go a bit world music for my liking from time to time. Does this make me a hipster? Here’s a nice video in case you’re wondering if it’s your bag.
