Poolga

poolga_bellblog

The iPhone and iPod Touch wallpapers I made for poolga are finally up and ready to be downloaded! There’s one of Alexander Graham Bell and one of Dr Martin Cooper and you can see some of the development work for them on my flickr.

Science

More collage/sketching from the crazybook…there’s an endless supply of these.

Wedding Invitations

kj_invite

The finished printed cards that came from the original ideas I posted here. I’m pretty pleased with the way they came out in the end, hopefully Kenny and Jess are too and if you are interested the RSVP is here.

Scottish Invasion

ecosseinvasion

We’ve all heard of the famous Falkirk Triangle and as the BBC says Scotland is the “Costa Del Sol” for aliens. For more evidence go here or here.

The Damned United

ellandroad

This is the view from our executive box at Elland Road from Simon’s stag do last weekend…Leeds United 4 - 0 Yeovil Town in case you’re interested. It’s hard not to think of The Damned United and some of the best bits from the film.

Dr Martina Cooper

I’ve been doing some bits around Dr Martin Cooper and Alexander Graham Bell, click here to see some more (if you’re into that kind of thing).

I’ve also been listening (repeatedly) to Aidan Moffat’s cover of Nine Million Bicycles by the fantastically irritating Katie Melua, click here to see her being dragged around by her feet like some kind of medieval torture.

She & Him

We went to see (500) Days of Summer earlier in the year (I suppose it was during the summer) and despite the many reasons there are to dislike it…i liked it. I also like She & Him so this video is a nice mix of the two.

Plumb Energy

I know this is a bit late for Halloween but it only arrived this morning. Click here for the full range of stationery that inspired the pumpkin.

Pastels & Tenniscoats - Two Sunsets

pasteltenniscoat

When I was a student I went to see The Pastels at The Venue in Edinburgh with some friends. They were the support for Luna but ended up playing after them to a disinterested crowd some of whom had their backs to the stage. Things were pretty ramshackle (even by their standards) and in an almost silent gap between songs someone turned round and said “Please stop”. It was quite uncomfortable.

Anyway, they recently released an album with the Tenniscoats which I like. The single is here and there’s a review from Anthony Fantano that’s worth visiting just to hear him say Glasgow (be warned though, he is incredibly irritating).

Hang on!

climbing

Just another vector from work so here’s an inspirational quote to lift the tone.
“Many years ago, I climbed the mountains, even thought it is forbidden. Things are not as they teach us; the world is hollow, and I have touched the sky.”
A dying Star Trek character…
